I learned with enthusiasm that our Mayor Roberto Bruni has promoted for Monday, June 8, 2009 celebrating the 150th anniversary of the liberation of Bergamo from Austrian rule, by the Hunters of the Bergamo Alps
This initiative honors the many patriots who took part in Garibaldi's business together with the illustrious compatriots Francesco Cucchi, Gabriele Camozzi, Francecso None, Luigi Dall 'Ovo, Daniel Piccinini, who played important roles in the events of the Risorgimento and post-unification. In recalling these
these events and figures, which have greatly affected the formation of culture and civic consciousness of our city, we can find a meaning with the current revival of the true vocation of Bergamo in the defense of freedom, the emancipation of peoples and intercultural dialogue.
For these reasons, I ask the candidate for mayor Roberto Bruni and FrancoTentorio to commit for next year in 2011 (one hundred and fiftieth of 'Unity' Italy) to organize celebrations and events at the level of 'important contribution played by the construction of Bergamo' National Unity.
On this special occasion, the date of 'June 8 and May 5 (the date of' boarding fourth event of the rock in 1860) worth of celebrations (city councils open, exhibitions, concerts) that are able to involve the citizens and particularly the new generations in reviving and spreading the values \u200b\u200band principles that are of great relevance.
